Jennifer Jenkins has been a library clerk since she started working in November 2002. She works as a part-time employee now with hopes of becoming a full-time employee when the library expansion is completed. Her duties are working the circulation desk, helping patrons (whether with reference questions or computer usage), reshelving library materials, answering the telephone, and ordering books through Inter-Library Loans.

Lori Chance began working at the library in November 2002. She started working as a part-time employee and in 2003 became full-time. She shares the same duties as Jennifer and also creates divorce packets. She works on special projects that deal with artwork and sign making. Lori and Jennifer man the circulation counter and their bright faces and smiles are who greet patrons as they enter the library.

Debra Vick has been an employee at the library for 15 years in a library clerk position. She began working at the library on a voluntary basis, which worked into a part-time position then into a full-time position. She works in acquisitions and helps with patrons. She holds a temporary county librarian certificate.

Diane Rutledge is the Director of the Library and has returned to the library in 2003 from a 16-year absence. She began working at the library as a volunteer while in Junior High working after school and on Saturdays. In 1973 Diane became a part-time employee working through an early release program in High School. After graduation in 1975, Diane started working full-time and became Assistant Librarian in 1976. In October 1978 she achieved the position of Library Director. Due to her husband's employment in 1986 Diane resigned and was away from Silsbee for 3 years. Though Diane was always interested in the library, when she returned to Silsbee there were no open positions available. Diane instead worked directly behind the library at Etex Office Products for the next 13 years. In 2003 the position for the Library Director became available and Diane was hired into the position. She has worked on the same downtown corner for over 30 years. Overseeing the daily operations of the library, she is responsible for the collection development, handles public relations, holds a permanent county librarian certificate (which was obtained while director in prior years), is a member of the Texas Library Association and the American Library Association, and has been diligently working with the Advisory Board and The Friends of the Library in expanding the library from 3,800 square feet into a new and renovated 7,900 square foot building.
